Managing Artistic Director
Richmond Catholic Theatre
Richmond Catholic Theatre (RVACT) is thrilled to announce its fall production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, presented in a new virtual adaptation. The production team includes Dolores Ann Mihaliak, a director from the tri-state area, and Artistic Associate and Resident Dramaturg, Alonna Ray Maddox, currently residing in Texas. “I am excited for what a virtual project brings to our production,” says Managing Artistic Director Christine Arena, “Using Zoom to build this production allows us to build a cast without geographic constraint, casting artists in the Richmond area and nation-wide.” Production opens September 26th, and will be streaming throughout the fall. If you are interested in the production for your school or community, contact Christine Arena directly at christine@richmondcatholictheatre.com.
The play takes place in a pandemic-torn world, where the state of the Duke’s Court is in chaos, paranoia and rife with power mongering. No one in the court is flourishing, even the powerful Duke, whose power was stolen and remains dependent upon the exiled ex-Duke's perpetual distance. In the midst of all this chaos, the young people retreat to a new communication system, the Arden App, where they can flee the complication of the world order and seek the right order.
Auditions will take place August 19th through 26th, and rehearsals begin August 31st. If you are interested in auditioning, fill out the form linked in this document, and you will be contacted by the Production Stage Manager Katie Crnkovich.
